Burbank Bob Hope Airport Parking Rates For Some Lots to Be Adjusted January 15, 2013

BURBANK, Calif., December 4, 2012 – Daily parking rates for selected lots at Burbank Bob Hope Airport will be adjusted upward by $2 effective January 15, 2013. Rates for other lots will remain unchanged, and Airport patrons will still be able to park at the current $10 per day economy rate in Lot A, located at Hollywood Way and Winona Avenue, one block north of the main Airport entrance.

Burbank Bob Hope Airport Remains Open Despite Runway Lighting Failure

BURBANK, Calif., November 29, 2012 — Bob Hope Airport is open. However, last night the Airport experienced a failure of the Runway 15-33 edge lighting system and is under repair. Runway 8-26 lighting system is fully operational and is open for arrivals but not departures.

Burbank Bob Hope Airport Offers Travel Tips for the Thanksgiving Holiday

BURBANK, Calif., November 16, 2012 — Thanksgiving week kicks off the winter holiday travel season, and passengers traveling through Burbank Bob Hope Airport between Friday, November 16 and Monday, November 26 will experience higher-than-normal passenger traffic due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Burbank Bob Hope Airport Personnel to Hold Superstorm Sandy Fundraiser

BURBANK, Calif., November 8, 2012 — On Friday, November 9, the Burbank Bob Hope Airport Police, Fire, Operations, and Maintenance Departments will collect donations to aid Superstorm Sandy relief efforts on the East Coast. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.

Burbank Bob Hope Airport to Launch Six-Month Marketing Campaign

Notice of Change in Bob Hope Airport Administration Office Hours Effective October 1, 2012

BURBANK, Calif., September 25, 2012 – Beginning October 1, 2012, the Bob Hope Airport administration office hours will change to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The offices will be closed on weekends and holidays.

Pile Driving to Commence at Burbank Bob Hope Airport's Transportation Center Construction Site

BURBANK, Calif., September 19, 2012 — On September 20, 2012, prime contractor McCarthy Building Companies will begin the pile driving phase of the construction of Burbank Bob Hope Airport’s Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (RITC). Eight hundred seventy-five piles will be driven between now and the middle of December 2012 to support the above ground structural elements of the RITC.

Bob Hope Airport Hosts Public Workshop for Airport Noise Exposure Map Update and Status of Noise Compatibility Program

BURBANK, Calif., September 17, 2012 — The public is invited to attend a community workshop on the aircraft noise impact study being conducted by the Bob Hope Airport, to be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. This is an update to the Airport’s 1998 “Federal Aviation Regulation Part 150 Study,” which evaluates current and future aircraft noise impacts on communities near airports.

Bob Hope Airport Holds "Fly Back to School" Social Media Contest

BURBANK, Calif., July 11, 2012 — Bob Hope Airport is partnering with Southwest Airlines to host a “Fly Back to School” social media contest from July 11-Aug. 6, 2012. One winner will receive a round-trip ticket, courtesy of Southwest Airlines, to fly back to his or her college or university in the fall. To be considered eligible to win, contestants must be at least 18 years of age, currently enrolled in a college or university, and list the Bob Hope Airport as either their origin or destination airport. Only one entry per contestant is permitted. The winner will be publicly announced on Aug. 14, 2012.

Airport Authority Commission Elects Pasadena Commissioner Chris Holden as President for the Coming Year

BURBANK, Calif., July 2, 2012 – The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority,
owner and operator of Bob Hope Airport, has elected new officers to head the Authority
Commission for a one year term from July 2012 through June 2013. The Commission elects
officers each July.

April Online Questionnaire Results Echo Earlier Telephone Survey

BURBANK, Calif., June 18, 2012 — Participants in a questionnaire about Bob Hope Airport offered on the Internet April 16–30 to all persons expressed favorable overall attitudes about the Airport and the desirability of a replacement passenger terminal with the same number of gates as the current 82-year-old terminal.

Airport Authority Awards Construction Contracts for RITC

BURBANK, Calif., May 14, 2012 — The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority today voted to award contracts totaling $81,179,000 to build the first phase of a Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (RITC) at Bob Hope Airport that will bring Airport patrons and multiple transportation modes together at a single location with easy access to and from the passenger terminal. The transportation center is scheduled to open in summer 2014.

Parking Lot D To Close for Construction

BURBANK, Calif., May 1, 2012 — Burbank Bob Hope Airport is closing the entrances to Economy Parking Lot D at the corner of Hollywood Way and Empire Avenue today to prepare for construction of the new Regional Intermodal Transportation Center (RITC) set to commence this summer. All vehicles currently parked in Lot D must exit prior to May 15, 2012. Cars remaining in Lot D after May 15 will be relocated to Economy Lot A.

Aviation Legends to Appear at Bob Hope Airport

BURBANK, Calif., April 5, 2012 — In advance of this year’s annual spring edition of Burbank on Parade, the volunteer organizers of Burbank on Parade and the Bob Hope Airport are holding a press availability—open to credentialed news media only—offering interview opportunities with the two Southern California aviation legends who will serve as grand marshals of this year’s parade: Bob Gilliland and Clay Lacy. The two aviators exemplify the theme of this year’s hometown celebration of Burbank, “The World of Aviation and Its Heroes.”

Bob Hope Airport Opens Bid for RITC

BURBANK, Calif., March 23, 2012 — The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority opened bids yesterday for a 21st Century, sustainable intermodal transportation facility that will be among the first of its kind. Bids were competitive and appear to be within budget, allowing the project to receive further consideration by the Authority.

Bob Hope Airport Holds Emergency Training Exercise Tuesday, March 20

BURBANK, Calif., March 20, 2012 — The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority along with numerous local agencies will participate in a full-scale emergency response training exercise on Tuesday, March 20, at 9 a.m. at the Bob Hope Airport.  The Airport is required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to conduct such an exercise once every three years to test the Airport's readiness in case of a real incident.  The Airport will continue with normal operations throughout the exercise, which is expected to last two hours.

Joint Session of Burbank City Council and Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority Briefed on Results of Bob Hope Airport Public Opinion Research

BURBANK, Calif., March 16, 2012 — A telephone survey of 1,111 registered voters conducted
in February pursuant to the development agreement between the City & Airport Authority indicates
that 92% of Burbank survey respondents have a generally favorable view of the Airport, and a
majority would support a replacement terminal with the same number of passenger gates as the
current terminal that meets current earthquake design standards and current Federal Aviation
Administration airport design standards.

Burbank City Council and Airport Authority to Hold Joint Meeting on Results of Airport Public Opinion Research

BURBANK, Calif., March 14, 2012 — The Burbank City Council and the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority will hold a joint meeting March 15, 2012 to receive a report on the results of recent public opinion research regarding Bob Hope Airport. The meeting will convene at 5:00 p.m. in the City of Burbank Community Services Building, 150 N. Third Street, Burbank, CA 91502. Members of the public are invited to attend.

Bob Hope Airport Hosts Public Workshop for Airport Noise Exposure Map Update

workshop on the federal noise study being conducted by the Bob Hope Airport, to be held on
Thursday, March 22. This is an update to the Airport’s Noise Exposure Map document
completed in 1998. This document evaluates current and future aircraft noise impacts on
communities near airports. Funding for the noise study is provided by the Federal Aviation
Administration and the Airport Authority.

2012 "Tower Banner Art Contest" Winners Announced

BURBANK, Calif., March 5, 2012 – The high school student winners and finalists of the
Bob Hope Airport “2012 Tower Banner Art Contest” from Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena
Unified School Districts presented their winning artwork at today’s March 5, 2012 Airport
Authority meeting. Joining them were their art teachers and district art coordinators, along with
many of the students’ proud parents.

American Airlines Announces Cessation of Burbank Flights Effective February 9th

BURBANK, Calif., January 9, 2012 – American Airlines today informed the management of Bob Hope Airport that it will cease operations at Burbank effective February 9 as part of the airline’s ongoing evaluation of its operation since its bankruptcy filing last November.
